
Margaret Barrett joined the Carolina Center for Public Service as associate director in 2017 after an 18-year career in the nonprofit sector with the Orange County Rape Crisis Center and Ipas. In her current role, Margaret focuses on human resources, financial management and planning, along with oversight of programs that provide opportunities for UNC-Chapel Hill faculty, staff and students to engage with communities across North Carolina. Margaret received her BA with a major in Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1987 and her law degree from Carolina in 1991. She especially enjoys co-teaching a public health course focused on pathways to effective community engagement.
