
Nieva Arana is the Racial Equity Ambassador Program (REAP) and DREAM (Dedicated. Responsible. Enthusiastic. After-School. Mentors) Team Program Coordinator for the Asheville City Schools Foundation. Nieva is an Asheville native and Asheville High School alumna. Nieva is also a millennial woman of color who has faced the kinds of systemic, structural barriers to success that our students frequently encounter. Nieva is currently completing her Master of Social Work degree at the University of North Carolina Charlotte and is completing her field practicum with ACSF. Nieva’s lived experiences and varied youth development work brings a wealth of insight and guidance to her work in both REAP and DREAM.
