Partnering for Impact: How Government Agencies and Nonprofits Collaborate to Make a Difference

Partnerships between state government agencies and nonprofit organizations present opportunities to leverage each sectors’ resources and expertise to maximize impact. This session will explore some of the ways in which state government and nonprofits partner to inspire ideas for impactful cross-sector partnership in attendees’ diverse contexts. Speakers representing state government agencies and nonprofit organizations, focused on topics from criminal justice to the arts, will highlight existing government-nonprofit partnerships; offer guidance for identifying opportunities that might be ripe for government-nonprofit partnership; and will share promising practices and lessons learned thus far. A theme of the session will be using research to benefit cross-sector partnerships. Speakers will provide tips for attendees who are interested in partnering across sectors but not sure where to start.
