As nonprofit leaders, we owe it to our teams and communities to hold space with generous authority. Yet much of our time together is designed without intention — quietly eroding trust, energy, and connection. This session reframes facilitation as a core leadership skill for weaving cultures of belonging. Together, we’ll explore three principles at the heart of Jordan’s work with Journeymen: (1) connection before content — how we begin shapes how we relate; (2) values before procedure — culture is transmitted through tone, not just plans; and (3) the power of the built environment — the way we structure a room influences how people show up. Expect to experience these ideas, not just hear about them. You’ll leave with simple practices you can take into staff meetings, board gatherings, and community spaces to make them more meaningful, relational, and alive.
