Niconda Garcia has worked in the social justice nonprofit sector for over 20 years. Serving the 18-county region of Western North Carolina in the healthcare sector and as the Pretrial Release Manager of Buncombe County functioned as a catalyst to inform the humanitarian aspects of her work. Her professional experiences have reinforced functional skills to navigate systems of oppression from a vantage point that fosters the intersection of socioeconomic, human rights, and anti-racist practices in organizational capacity building and leadership development. Her current role as a Program Coordinating Consultant at WNC Nonprofit Pathways and owner of Change the Rubric Ltd., provide the opportunity to apply lived experience, her B.A. in Business Administration, and professional skills to optimize processes, programmatic content, and leadership coaching using lean six sigma concepts. Learnings from volunteering in organizations such as Building Bridges of Asheville, United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, CoThinkk, and Franklin School of Innovations DEI Committee will continue to be applied to evoke change in NC and beyond.
