Niles Barnes serves as Deputy Director of the East Coast Greenway Alliance, leading organizational strategy, operations, and cross-departmental coordination to advance the nation’s most popular connected biking and walking route. The 3,000-mile East Coast Greenway from Canada to Key West now attracts more than 50 million visits annually. In his role, Barnes oversees the Alliance’s programs, creative, and operations teams, ensuring alignment, effectiveness, and impact. Niles graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Kentucky and holds a master’s degree in environmental management from Duke University. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and earned a business administration certificate from the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics.
