Heather Hu

Heather Hu is the Founder and Principal Consultant of HDH Advancement Group. Originally a major gift fundraiser by training, Heather applies her twenty-five years of experience working at Duke Health, Baylor Medicine, St. Mary’s Medical in San Francisco, and Habitat Wake to advise organizations and to mentor nonprofit professionals. She works with each client organization to develop strategy, funding, and infrastructure that empowers fulfillment of mission and achievement of vision. Having lived around the world, Heather is passionate about bringing together people of diverse backgrounds, utilizing unique perspectives to advocate for true social change. Her life has been enriched through decades of volunteering with refugees, the incarcerated, and racial and cultural unity initiatives. With family roots from Asheville to Harker’s Island, Heather is proud to call NC home.
